Takedown and Report Policy
Draft — under legal reviewThis document has not been approved by a lawyer. It may change, and changes will need your acceptance again. Status: DRAFT — pending counsel review.
Likeness takes reports of impersonation and misuse seriously. This policy says how to report, what we do, how a creator can respond, and what happens to repeat infringers. It is part of the Terms of Service.
1. What you can report
- A page, offer or photo that shows you without your permission, or shows another person who has not agreed;
- impersonation: someone presenting themselves as you, or as a person they are not;
- a photo that infringes your copyright or another right;
- a licensed copy being used outside its license;
- a photo that shows a minor, or sexual or unlawful content.
Reports about content that is not on Likeness cannot be removed by us. We are not a court and cannot order other platforms to remove anything.
2. How to report
Use the "Report" link on a creator's public page, or write to antonio_kodheli@icloud.com. Please include: the page address or license ID; who you are and how to reach you; what is wrong and why; and, if you claim to be the person shown, how we can reasonably tell (we may ask for more information). Do not send identity documents or other sensitive data unless we ask for them through a secure channel. You must report in good faith: knowingly false reports can be treated as a breach of the Terms.
3. What staff do
- Receive and record. A report creates a review item for staff. Repeated reports about the same page from the same network on the same day are counted once, and each page can take only a limited number of reports per day, so please do not file the same report several times.
- Interim steps. While we look, staff may mark the page "under review", unlist it, suspend the creator's offers, refuse new checkouts for the affected offers, withhold the creator's payouts, and demote a photo's "shows only me" statement so that nothing more is offered from it.
- Decide. Staff weigh the report, the creator's response and any evidence. We may remove or restore the page and offers, suspend or terminate a license, recommend refunds to buyers, or close an account. Decisions are recorded with a staff note.
- Tell people. We tell the creator what was done and why, as far as the law and safety allow. We do not collect a name or contact details with a report, so we cannot promise to tell a reporter the outcome. A reporter who wants a reply can email antonio_kodheli@icloud.com, quoting the page address.
We aim to look at every report promptly, but we do not promise a timeline. [RESPONSE TARGET — TBD]
4. Counter-notice and appeal
A creator whose page, offer or photo was restricted can reply to staff at antonio_kodheli@icloud.com with their side: why they believe they have the rights and, where relevant, that the person shown is them. Staff review the reply, and may restore content, keep it restricted or ask for more. If a report was a copyright notice, the creator may file a counter-notice in the form we give them. We restore content only where the reply is credible and the law allows.
5. Refunds and money
Where a restricted photo has already been licensed, staff may recommend a refund to the buyer and the Creator Agreement lets us take it from the creator's earnings. We do not pay out earnings of an account with an open refund-recommended incident.
6. Repeat infringers
We close the accounts of creators who repeatedly offer photos that they do not have the right to license, or whose attestation proves untrue.
7. What we cannot do
We do not verify who anyone is, and we cannot see whether another website or service uses a photo. We cannot remove content from other platforms. A missing watermark is not permission to use anyone's likeness. If you believe a crime has been committed, contact the police.
